Desc: Inside the Alternative Strings: Directed by Jim Berecek. Inside the Alternative Strings follows a High School extra curricular group of musicians made up of primarily classically trained orchestra string students as they practice, perform, and compete throughout the school year. Led by their director Douglas Eyink, they journey through music genres playing Bluegrass, Celtic, Jazz, and Pop. In this film you will be with them on this journey, in the classroom, on the stage, and in the audience. Out-of-their-element they learn to play and enjoy the 'alternative' to the classics that few students at their level ever get to experience. The documentary focuses on the various styles of music they play along with interviews with current students, alumni, friends and their founder and director Douglas Eyink.
